Michigan
The Michigan region is home to the first buildOn after-school program, which was launched in 1992 at Lumen Christi High School in Jackson. This school was chosen for buildOn's first program because it is the alma mater of Jim Ziolkowski, the founder and now President & CEO of buildOn. The region has grown over the years to host 14 programs in the city of Detroit as well as in the outlying suburbs.
