The buildOn school in Kilo will include three modern classrooms and space to educate more than 100 children.

Nikiema loves math, but only recently started attending school. Her parents didn’t think she would get a good education in her village’s school – a dark, one-room thatch hut. When they learned buildOn was building a new school in the village, they saw hope for her education and started sending her to class.

Deprived of education, Barkissou was unable to write her own name and was married as a teenager. But she saw hope for the future in a new buildOn school: “Knowledge is on the pages of books, and with knowledge comes the power to dream… Through education my children can realize their dreams.”
