At buildOn, we believe that leadership is about building others up. It’s about putting people first and learning to lead by first learning how to serve. Our students, community members, and partners are living this philosophy every day, as they serve in their own communities and build schools in the villages that need them most. They know that there is a new path to leadership, and it starts with service. At buildOn, we call this Constructive Leadership.
Breaking the Cycle of Poverty, Illiteracy, and Low Expectations
Constructive Leadership inspires solidarity and unleashes our courage, resilience, empathy, passion for the possible, and it can only be ignited through service! Our buildOn supporters can begin leading the change in their communities by getting directly involved our immersion program, 36 Hours.
What is 36 Hours?
36 Hours is a deeply personal and inspiring immersion experience created for buildOn supporters to travel to a buildOn partner high school and serve in solidarity with our students.
Participants partner with a buildOn Student Ambassador to learn directly about life in their community on school and neighborhood tours. Together students and 36 Hours participants explore the issues facing students today and address these challenges directly through service.

help create positive change and empower more students by supporting buildOn’s Service Learning Program.
