Partners in Service
A powerful investment in your community
Our partners play an integral role in our mission to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations. We offer immersive experiences that let your team members serve with us, share their skills, and make a meaningful impact in their community and the world’s economically poorest countries.
In this student-led immersion experience, business and community leaders spend two days in a buildOn neighborhood and “walk in the shoes” of our U.S. students. Each participant is paired directly with a buildOn student and together they study the challenges facing America’s neighborhoods. Participants will speak with teachers and school administrators about issues facing our students, explore communities with buildOn youth, and most importantly, serve alongside our students as they create the change they wish to see.Join Us
This afternoon-long experience lets you join buildOn youth as they explore the challenges facing their communities and take action to address these issues through service. You’ll get to serve your community and build deeper connections with your colleagues as you come together to serve in solidarity. buildOn students will lead you through their service methodology – IPARD – as you investigate, prepare, act, reflect and demonstrate impactful service to take on the issue you’ve explored together.Join Us
Trek is not a vacation—it’s a transformative experience that puts your team on the front lines of the fight against poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations. Through this global service learning opportunity, participants immerse themselves in the local culture and customs of a rural village, live with host families, and engage in service by physically helping to construct a buildOn primary school. The opportunities for growth are enormous as participants learn the value of service and education, while developing a deeper understanding of the world and themselves as leaders and agents of change.Join Us
Hear From Our Service Partners
What I see in the buildOn students is a commitment to service that helps them lead in a way that builds inclusive societies. That’s very different than traditional leadership, but it is exactly the kind of leadership we need in the future.
My team and I were fortunate enough to spend two days with buildOn to experience firsthand the real challenges our country’s youth face on a daily basis. This program opened Synchrony’s eyes on how to better support youth, community, and more.
On serving with buildOn students: “It makes you think about what you can do differently. It will change you and how you think about leadership. It’s amazing.”
