Online Donations
Your online and offline donations are safe and secure. When you donate online or offline, buildOn will never sell, rent or trade this information to a third party. buildOn uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the confidentiality of your personal information and the security of your online transactions. buildOn’s online donations are processed through Authorize.Net. (For details, visit www.AuthorizeNet.com.) All online transactions are confirmed by a follow-up email.
Emails & eNewsletters
Periodically, buildOn sends emails and eNewsletters to our opt-in lists to keep supporters informed of news and events related to our mission. To receive these updates you must provide buildOn with contact details including your name, street address and/or email address. This information will be held in complete confidence, and buildOn will NOT sell, rent, trade or otherwise reveal this information to a third party. You are given the option to remove your name from our email list within each email/eNewsletter update.
Cookies
buildOn occasionally uses “cookies” – parcels of text sent by a server to your web browser and then sent back unchanged each time your browser accesses that server – for authenticating, tracking and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences. In order to do so, buildOn reserves the right to change this policy at any time to keep up with changing laws, regulations and trends. buildOn encourages you to occasionally review this privacy policy to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
Parent’s Bill of Rights
- A student’s personally identifiable information cannot be sold or released for any commercial purposes.
- Parents have the right to inspect and review the complete contents of their child’s education record.
- State and federal laws protect the confidentiality of personally identifiable information, and safeguards associated with industry standards and best practices, including but not limited to, encryption, firewalls, and password protection, must be in place when data is stored or transferred.
- A complete list of all student data elements collected by buildOn are as follows: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone Number, DOB, Zip Code, High School, Current Grade, Gender Identity, Race, Primary Language Spoken at Home, Qualitative/Quantitative Social & Emotional Responses, School Attendance Information, and buildOn Volunteer Program Participation Information.
