Our Service Methodology
Service is at the heart of buildOn’s mission. Each week, students make a meaningful impact by serving those in need and helping improve their neighborhoods.
Seventy-five percent of buildOn activities focus on direct service, like serving meals, tutoring children, and connecting with seniors. The other twenty-five percent includes beautification projects, such as cleaning graffiti, creating public art, and planting gardens to feed their neighbors.
Meet Laciann! A buildOn Alum.
Through buildOn, I have the opportunity to create lasting change. We’ve worked to improve the quality of life in our communities through initiatives like food and clothing drives, as well as volunteering at soup kitchens and pantries.
Now, Laciann Beadle is a Law & Society student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a focus on criminal justice reform and community leadership.
