What Do buildOn Global Community Teams Do?

Global Service

Physically construct a school and immerse yourself in a new culture. Participants live in a village and work alongside the local community to build their new school. Students learn the value of sweat equity and experience local language, customs and culture.

Fundraise to sponsor the construction of buildOn primary schools. For every $2,000 raised by a buildOn team towards school construction, one Community Team member has the opportunity to travel to the developing world on a buildOn Community Team Trek.

Advocate on behalf of buildOn and the world’s illiterate. buildOn team members bring voice to the voiceless. Through social media, the press and community events, our team members shed light on the need for literacy and its links to poverty reduction.

Personal Growth

buildOn Community Team members gain global perspectives, leadership skills, professional experience and a sense of community. Get access to monthly webinars, participate in our educational speakers series and attend buildOn’s Annual Community Teams Conference.
