buildOn Celebration – 500 Schools, 1 Million Hours
500 schools built globally, one million hours served
by US students locally!
On Saturday, October 13th buildOn reached two incredible milestones, 500 schools built around the world and 1 million hours of service contributed by students in the US. We celebrated the occasion in style, with service events in cities around the US, and with a live broadcast of the inauguration of our 500th school in Haiti.
The event was a celebration of all the people who have been a part of the buildOn movement over the last 21 years, students, community members, donors and partners.
If you missed the live event it is not too late to join the celebration…
1. Enjoy this video about the community of St. Hilaire, Haiti, the location of our 500th school.
2. Relive the live stream from Haiti. A conversation between the buildOn team in New York and buildOn’s Vice President of International Programs, Rosann Jager, and the villagers of St. Hilaire.
3. Listen to the students in their own words as they explain why they serve and what 1 million hours of service means to them.
4. Get Involved! This milestone is impressive, but it is just the beginning. Construction is already underway on more schools in countries around the world, and our students have already begun the second million hours of service. There are many ways that you can get involved. Join us today.
The work of buildOn is only possible because of the generosity of our donors and partners. Thank you for all you do to support our cause and to keep the buildOn movement thriving.
