Moss Adams Gives Back By Partnering With buildOn

In November 2012, Moss Adams employees went to Nepal to break ground on a buildOn school. It was the first time one of our corporate partners in the Bay Area raised funds for a school and participated in our Ambassador Donor Trek Program. It was also the first time the accounting and consulting firm took on such a large-scale, team-building project.

Fifteen of the firm’s employees from San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Rosa, Calif. raised over $77,000, which went toward building a school and travel and cost of living expenses. Together with buildOn, the group stated on it’s fundraising page, Moss Adams made a “tangible and meaningful difference in the lives of local villagers, who otherwise would continue to suffer a life void of education and the resulting amenities so many of us take for granted.” More than half of Nepal’s women are illiterate. The group’s goal was to create a butterfly affect on the world by helping cure the disease of ignorance.

“As an organization, we need to give back a lot more — not only in terms of money… we also have to give our time,” said Luc Arsenault, Partner at Moss Adams and a buildOn West Coast board member.
